SINGER
Helena is a former alto choral scholar of The Choir of Royal Holloway (Rupert Gough). She graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London, in 2011, after completing a BA Hons in Music and Drama. Before attending university, Helena spent a year studying at Trinity College of Music under the tuition of Alison Wells and vocal coach, Alistair Young, where she also gained a place in The Trinity College of Music Chamber Choir (Stephen Jackson). Helena has also spent time living in Australia, during which she auditioned to become a member of the acclaimed Brisbane based choir, 'Sola Voce', with whom she toured Europe and won various choral competitions. Helena’s singing has already allowed her to perform extensively in many prestigious venues, including St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Southwark Cathedral, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and Washington National Cathedral, to name a few. She has also sung on many professional recordings, released under various record labels, some of which include Hyperion, Naxos and Convivium Records. She has performed on live Television (in England, America and Australia) and many Radio Broadcasts for the BBC and Swiss Radio station RSR. She has been involved in tours nationally, as well as numerous international tours to the East and West Coasts of America, Hungary, Switzerland and Italy.
As well as extensive choral experience, Helena has performed on stage in many Operas and Operettas, and in Musical Theatre productions. She has performed in several productions with Charles Court Opera, including in the role of Hebe in HMS Pinafore and Ruth in Ruddigore (both Rosemary Branch Theatre, Islington). She was also a member of the onstage chorus for a five month run of the National Theatre’s production of Coram Boy (Olivier Theatre). Currently, Helena is performing in the West End Musical, 'Once', which allows her to combine singing with violin playing, acting and dancing.
She is delighted to have had opportunities in the past to perform alongside world-renowned singers, including Dame Felicity Lott, Dr Linda Hirst, Susan Bullock and Sarah Fox. She has attended workshops with former King’s Singer, Gabriel Crouch, and with Pattrick Russill, at the Royal Academy of Music. Helena continues to work as a freelance singer, performing throughout the country and overseas. She is currently a guest member of Convivium Singers (Adrian Green).
